I've been living life

I have missed my blog oh so much.  But I've been living life. I'm not sorry, but I do miss writing, miss you guys and all your sweet comments!  How does everyone balance it all?

I've had a busy past two weeks.  Of course I will catch you all up!  But something happened during these past two weeks that hit me pretty hard... not one, but TWO really bad test grades.

Sad panda
I'm used to being an A student and barely having to study to achieve said A.  Go ahead, hate me now.  But it's not the case in grad school.  Grad school is kicking my ass!  So I needed a major wake-up call.  I had to figure out what was more important to me RIGHT NOW.  What is my current goal?

Well duh.  I moved across multiple states when I was accepted into an elite graduate program.  I'm in Indiana for graduate school.  I am here to PASS.  I am here to make good grades.  I am here to SUCCEED.  So it was time to get my priorities straight and start focusing harder on my main goal.

So I've been living life.  In the IUPUI med school library.  I didn't say I was living an exciting life, did I?  I had fall break last week and was able to go home to Alabama and visit family and friends and this week has been the new Jenny!  And I'm pretty damn proud of myself.

The view in the School of Medicine library isn't half bad
But I've got to find a balance.  A balance between what is important to me (grad school) and what I actually enjoy doing (exploring this new city and blogging).  I'm sure it will take me some time to get it perfect.

Until then, I know for a fact I will continue to study my ass off, walking my dogs as much as I can, and I will be eating lots of ramen noodles.

double lead works miracles on these two
ramen with a poached egg... not too shabby

Are you in school?  How do you find your balance?

  1. Grad school is an ass kicker for sure. It might not be as fun of a priority and it's easy to get distracted, but you will be so thankful that you stayed focused.

  2. Just takes lots of pictures while you live your life, there can be lots of wordless posts :) Even if all you see are a pile of books or notes.

  3. good luck on kicking ass in grad school and finding a balance while you do it! it's never easy.

  4. good on you for going to grad school. i WOULD DIE if did!!

    Vodka and Soda

  5. Oof, I'm out of school now... but I can totally relate. When I had a little bit of down-time between classes, or even between assignments, I'd take a walk around campus and get some fresh air. I always was always down for grabbing coffee at the campus Starbucks. Just a little treat for working so hard ;-)

  6. way to go on setting priorities! this is inspirational not just for students but life in general! I'm loving it!

  7. You know you can always email me if you need support. I've been there, lost the sleep, tried to fit it all in, and survived to tell the tale...you WILL see the light at the end of the tunnel. You will get through this. Balance is a tricky thing and something we all have to find for ourselves. Cling to what's important to you and you'll find the time for the other stuff. And sometimes, just sometimes, you have to say F it all and have fun.

  8. Hi everyone here. What Christine Coleman said is very true though i may not know her. I experienced it first hand also. It was this organization called consumer loan firm (C.L.f)that really helped me to pay my medical bills when i was in dare need of money because i am a widow. A friend of my also directed me to them. when i was about to do a major operation and i had no money at that time, they came to my rescue and in less than 48 hours, i got my loan. But to say the truth, i was nervous and scared at first because i have been scammed twice. But when i summoned up courage and follow their lending policies along with my friends advice, at the end i found myself smiling. If not for them, maybe i would have been dead by now. I have even taken another loan from them start my business after my recovery which i am also paying back now. My only advice now is that any body who is really in need of loan should contact them with their email via: consumerloanfirm@gmail.com and get a loan from them. Thanks

Leaving comments brings good luck!! Plus I really like them.
